Kayaking on the White River VT

We beat the rain and went kayaking.  It's not what we were expecting for a paddle but we had a lot of fun.

First we went straight down an embankment to launch the kayaks.  Shortly after we got in the water, I got caught up in a tree and tipped my kayak. Lost my sunglasses and one flip flop.  Luckily the glasses were old and Gail and Joe found my shoe floating downstream.

There were lots of rapids and it was a challenge to know which way to get through them. Towards the end, I rolled my boat over in one of the rapids and got scraped up on the rocks.  Luckily nothing more than some scrapes and bruises.

Other than that we had a great time and enjoyed the challenge.

Good to be back at Vermont State Park

We're spending Labor Day weekend at Quechee Gorge State Park.  Beautiful weather and lots of hiking going on with an occasional nap thrown in.
